Domino History

The word ¨domino¨appears to have derived from the trational appearance of the tiles - black dots on a white background - which is reminisecent of a ¨domino¨(a king of hood worn by Christian priests.

The Domino game originally evolved from dice. The numbers in a standard double six domino set represent all of the rolls of two six-sided dice. The game of Dominoes is believed to have originated in China sometime in the 12th Century. The game later appeared in Italy in the early eighteenth century, and spread to the rest of Europe throghout the remainder of the 1700´s becoming one of the most popular games in the world.

Today, dominoes are played all over the world. The game is extremely popular in Latin America, where Dominoes is considered the national game of many Caribbean Countries. There are many domino tournaments held annually in many countries along with numerous domino clubs in many cities around the world.

Points: This determines the specific amount of points needed to win the game ¨Point Total¨.

Game: This means the type of game - which Domino set you wish to use double six or double nine.

Bones: Domino pieces are sometimes called ¨bones¨ because they were originally made of animal bones or ivory. Today they are more commonly made out of plastic, ceramic, stone, or tiles. The Bones field within the PlayFast software is the total of bones each player can use starting each round.

* Special Note If the "Draw 9 bones" is not selected, by default the game will give 7 bones to each player.

Move Timer: This field refers to the amount of time each player has for their turn. If the player doesn't make a move within the specified time, he will be declared defeated.
